Report of SPAZ’s Annual General Meeting held January 30, 2010

Congratulations SPAZ members….

We earned €56,047.69 in 2010, more money than we have made in any one year and we have neutered 1574
cats and dogs, also the most we have ever managed in a single year.  This is something to be proud of.

As you can see, our car boot sales and bazaars combined brought in the most money - €30,100.80. And while
we are proud of this achievement, it must be emphasized that it is only a small group of members and supporters
who organized and worked at these events.  The message of our new Bill Holz Volunteer Program for SPAZ is
that we need more members to commit themselves to working in SPAZ and we are urging members to help out
in some area.  This was the main message of this year’s Annual General Meeting.

There were no elections held this year so the same members will be on the administrative committee for the
coming year.  They are: President - Joanna Doulakis, Vice-President - Tatiana Papamochou, Treasurer - Fofi
Dimitriadou, Secretary - Tzela Pagoni, Member - Nikki Clainos, Representative to other groups - Elizabeth
Koubena and Website Committee – Sia Hurst, Elizabeth Koubena, Vassi Clainos

The new membership registration was introduced as well as the Bill Holz Volunteer Program for SPAZ and
changes in our Constitution (to reflect more correctly the area we are working in).  After the meeting Ero Mercati
demonstrated some dog-training techniques. (We are planning to hold a workshop in April on animal reward-
training and the Tellington Touch Therapy techniques, open to all SPAZ members and friends, free of charge.)

Our car boot sales ended last fall due to the withdrawal of permission to use the old airport parking lot for the
event but the result has been an unprecedented demand to continue them elsewhere, so SPAZ is looking for
another venue and we hope to have some news soon.

Thanks to all those who showed up at the AGM.  We want to encourage more members to attend this regular
annual meeting and if you can come up with some ideas on how to do this, we would love to hear them.

SPAZ will soon be celebrating its 25th anniversary, something to be proud of.  But the demands of animal welfare
work in our area are more challenging than ever and our fund-raising efforts need to be greater than ever as well.
SPAZ is only as effective as the energy and commitment of its members. SPAZ is you; so think about what you
can do to be a more active member in 2011.
